The best concert I’ve had

I haven’t gone to so many concerts. I’ve lived in Ovalle the most part of my life and – just as I said in the previous blog – it is a really small city. There are not so many concerts at there, in fact, I can’t remember if there has been one ever. There is just the bands or famous groups that goes to the “Plaza de Armas” and everybody who wants to go can do it and it’s for free. It’s not exactly a concert.

Anyway, the first real concert I went was the last year (maybe two years ago, sorry, I don’t remember), here in Santiago. It was a group that I loved, and my girlfriend loved them too, so she is mostly the reason that the idea was born. They were Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. I don’t remember the date, maybe it was like on this part of the year.

Los Fabulosos Cadillacs are a band that play something between rock and… salsa? It’s like a rock that you can dance if you want. I don’t know. Their lyrics are very funny and easy to learn (I can say that now. At those days, I couldn’t sing more than three songs).

The atmosphere was great. The people were jumping all over the place. It was at the Movistar Arena. Not so big, but there was enough space to dance and everything else. We were at the top, not far, really good places. Comfortable.

My girlfriend was very happy. She always wanted to see them. She knew all the songs. We dance. They played all the most popular songs and the people was screaming every time that they could recognize the beginning of the greatest hits.

She took a lot of photos of the band, the people and of ourselves. At the end of the concert, we were too tired… Maybe we would go again if they come back someday.

Things I love and hate about Santiago

I've been living almost five years here in Santiago. It's enough time to know the things that I love and the things that I don't like very much. I remember that the first thing that I hated about this city was - and it still is - that it takes too much time to get from a place to another. The city is too big and I'm not a really puntual person. I was born in Ovalle, a really small city where you can walk to everywhere because the public transport is slow and not very useful. Here, you must take the bus or the subway 'cause there are distances as long as the travel from my city to another.
Probably because of this the people is always running. They are always angry and they crush you in the bus while they're trying to get to their homes or jobs.
Another thing that I hate about Santiago are the extreme cold and the extreme heat. At summer, the city is too hot to do anything; in winter, it's like a polar cold. In fall, it may be too hot and too cold in the same day, so you don't know what to wear when you live your house in the morning. The spring is kind of the best season.
Except for this, everything else is fine. If you want to do something, you can do it because there is a place for it. If you want to buy something, here is THE place where you can find it in Chile, my friends are here, my girlfriend is here, my place is here.
