Postgraduate studies

It's hard to think about postgraduate studies. Right now, I just can think about how much I want to finish this career and begin to work. Like I've said in previous blogs, I'm not sure if I want to be a journalist all my life, so I don't know if I would take some kind of course about it. Five years ago, I would say that I would wanted to learn different languages, 'cause it's great being a journalist and knowing a lot of languages.

Since we are talking about languages, I wouldn't like to take those courses in Chile. If I'm gonna learn French, I want to learn it in France. Same with Italian, Russian, Japanese, Chinese or German. Even not being a journalist it would be nice to learn a lot of languages, I suppose.

I guess I could study some of those here at the University, but this is my last year, so... Maybe one day I'll take a part-time course compatible with my work schedule.

I think today is important to take some postgraduate courses. Twenty years ago there were not so much people who had finished a college career. Now the things are different and there is a lot of competition. Unfortunately, people have to compete to get a job.

My future job

I don't know what kind of job I would like to have. I choose journalism because I wanted to write things, talk with people and go to places that you shouldn't be. I pretty sure that I had a wrong idea about the journalism because of the movies and stuff like that. Anyway, I've discovered that actually I do have to talk to a lot of people. Every subject here in the university makes me look for someone who could tell me what I need. About the forbidden places, It's more like know interesting places that you don't visit everyday. I wasn't so wrong after all.

I like to travel and know new places. I would be great if my future job lets me go to different countries or even to different cities here in Chile. It would also be great that the salary allows me to have nice holidays and have a beautiful house, a nice kitchen, maybe a car... All those things are important, but I think that the most important thing - or one I would always have in mind - is to have time to spend in my home, with my family and my dogs. I don't want a job that doesn't have a fixed schedule, or a job so hard that makes me just want to get home to sleep.

I don't know if journalism is this kind of job. It's interesting but I'm not so sure if I want to work as a journalist all my life. Maybe I'll study another career when i have the chance. In the last three years, I've found out that I would love to study veterinarian medicine. I'll try to learn more about that career and not from the movies, I don't trust them anymore.

My music

Music has always been important in my life. I think we all have some kind of soundtrack of our lives, or at least a couple of songs that there will be always in our hearts and minds. In my case, I've always liked old songs, like really old. Theres is no lyrics like the old lyrics, no matter if they aren't so poetic, but they are catchy... songs like "Kung Fu Fighting" by Carl Douglas or "Don't Worry Baby" by The Beach Boys, or even older, like "You make me feel brand new" by The Stylistics... This kind of music makes me feel really good, so you could say that the genre that I love is old music.

Like I said, I love The Beach Boys, especially their not-so-hawaiian songs. But I wouldn't say that they are my favorite band. I don't have a favorite band. I have favorite songs that reminds me things or moments or persons, that's why every song makes me feel in a different way.

"Save Me" by Remy Zero (not a great song) reminds me when I was 16 and I spent almost a year watching Smallville, Creedence makes me remember my father and Sandro makes me remember my mother, "Still loving you" by Scorpions reminds me my sister 'cause she loves almost all their songs, "Turn me on" by The Shines is a song from that album that I love and I didn't find anywhere but my girlfriend did and it was my 2017 birthday present from her. "My sharona" by The Knack makes me remember my friend who left Santiago, "The force theme" makes me think when I saw Star Wars with my mom in summer...

There is a lot of important songs in our lives. We could re-write our days just listen to this songs or bring people to our lives, people we miss, moments that we would like to live again, moments that we wouldn't. That's why I love this songs.

My favorite movie

It's hard to say which movie is my favorite. There is a lot of movies I like to watch again and again and again. Back to the Future is one of those and maybe I should choose that one 'cause I've memorized every part.

Back to the Future is a science fiction movie that is about a teenager who accidentally travels to the past in a time machine that his friend - an old scientist - created. So, from 1985 travels to 1955 and knows his parents and changes the future and puts himself in danger not letting them to know each other and fall in love and all the things that they supposed to do to bring Marty to the existence. Besides, the time machine needs a lot of energy to travel again and there is no way to get what is needed to it. So, he could be there forever.

The movie takes place in a little city named Hill Valley, and everything happens in this city, just in different moments in history: 1985, 1955, 1885 and 2015. All this 'cause there are three movies and there are more than just one time travel.

The main actors are Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Dr. Emmett Brown), Lea Thompson (as Lorraine, Marty's mother), Crispin Glover (as George McFly) and Thomas F. Wilson (Biff Tannen).

I like 'cause it remembers how the little facts in life can change everything in our futures and teaches that how we do thing now defines how we will be when we grow up.
